It seems that I'm always taking much time before I update here with my new works...... but the reason is not that I don't like it here, I simply upload first at Renderosity.com as that's my favourite art-community. A lazy afternoon in Tortuga....

I wanted to try some HRDI lights with my favourite characters and my new Lizzie for V4 (Thanks to AdamThwaites!).
I'm really satisfied with the result of this image, everything looks like I wanted it to, Depth of Field inclusive.
Somehow I have the feeling that I have to change the textures of their shirts and her breeches too, they still look too much artificial.

Finally! Jack got a new texture for his shirt.... now I think it looks decent enough to be called a pirate shirt, ain't it?
Took me long enough anyway and I got so many kind advisories about this, so this is what I came up with.
Actually, I took pictures (with a Minolta Dimage Z1) of my own shirt with all the stains and sweatpatches (honestly - looks and smells like a real pirate shirt ;o) made a texture of them and then put a displacement map on the shirt. It did wonders!
Now that I was so happy about the shirt, I tried the same with his breeches, but I used only a handpainted displacement-map. But that seems to be alright, too.
So.... shirt done, breeches done, boots are done too, now I'm hoping for decent hair, vest and coat.

Well, it's already 2008 and I wonder where the time's gone.... 

I found a new method to light my candles in 3D and that's what came out of this new knowledge ;o)
Hope you like the little story that goes with the image.

It was late at night when the Empress docked alongside the tall black ship. Nigh no noises were heard when the captain walked nonchalantly over the gangplank towards the captain’s cabin of the Pearl.
The sight she was greeted with when she entered his chamber made her heart clench.
Hunched over some sea charts and fast asleep was the man her heart craved for the last years, but which she always denied as her own feelings.
When she stepped closer to him, the truth his compass revealed hit her like a tropical typhoon, as it pointed steadily at her.
“I missed you too, Jack….”
For once in their lifes it seemed that they both had accepted their destiny as their own and Elizabeth had every intention to take advantage of that knowledge.

Well well..... to be honest: amandamichelle8   inspired me to do this image! Actually, we were talking about a nude picture, but I love Jack with just a little bit clothes too ;o) The rest is up to your imagination (I'm sure you have a vivid one, right?!?!?!)

Dedicated to the one and only Florencia and her truely beautiful JackElizabeth story "Vulnerant Omnes - Ultima Necat". Chapter 2 inspired my and that image floated on my mind ever since. Now, there's jsut one way to release it - 3D! 
Anyway, that's how I saw that special scene in chapter 2 and if you still don't know what I'm talking about (is that even possible?!?!?), then hob over and read her story, either on ff.net (Florencia7) or here on LJ. 
Florencia: a personal THANK YOU to you for giving all of us the regular sparrabeth-dose we all crave so much. You're the BEST, simply THE BEST!!!!!!!!!! If I'd have a bottle with water from Aqua de Vida, I'd hand it to you so that you could write sparrabeth forever and I could enjoy every word :o)
